This week, Qantas announced the launch of a next-generation aircraft painting technology at its Sydney maintenance hub, reducing the full-body paint cycle for its Boeing 787 fleet from the traditional 14 days down to just 7 days—setting a new industry benchmark for wide-body aircraft painting efficiency. Dubbed "Rapid Refresh," this innovative tech suite integrates cutting-edge processes such as a laser paint removal system, nano-ceramic primer pre-treatment, and collaborative multi-robot spraying techniques.
