This week, Qantas announced the launch of a next-generation aircraft painting technology at its Sydney maintenance center, cutting the full-body paint cycle for its Boeing 787 fleet from the traditional 14 days down to just 7 days—setting a new efficiency benchmark for wide-body passenger jet painting. Dubbed "Rapid Refresh," this innovative tech package includes a laser paint removal system, nano-ceramic primer pre-treatment, and advanced multi-robot collaborative spraying techniques.
